A part of America's sustaining greatness is tolerance of diversity. There are in America large numbers of people from very different backgrounds and with different beliefs who work and live together without friction. We do not force our beliefs on our neighbors.

The author has knowledge of an apartment management company that not only insisted on Christmas decorations at on-site offices, but also held contests and awarded a prize to the tenant who displayed the best decoration. Times have changed.

Holiday and religious decorations are the prerogative of individual tenants. We are not in business to promote a particular religious belief nor are we in business to offend those whose beliefs different from our own. We are in business to earn profit. Neutrality regarding religious and political belief is the only acceptable policy for on-site apartment operation.
